xAI's Grok 2 is now Open Source (sort of!)
xAI’s Grok 2 is now open source.
It has the same architecture as Grok 1 and is similar to Qwen3 235B-A22B
By today’s standards, it may not perform well in benchmarks, but it is good for learning purposes.
One thing to note is its restrictive license
For non-commercial and research purposes; You may not use the Materials, derivatives, or outputs (including generated data) to train, create, or improve any foundational, large language, or general-purpose AI models, except for modifications or fine-tuning of Grok 2 permitted under and in accordance with the terms of this Agreement."
